In a recent case, we provided our forensic investigations client with digital forensic identification, collection and imaging services in the execution of a search and seizure order.
We were able to support our client with this digital forensic collection in three locations simultaneously, including two residences and one office address. Working in accordance with the Court Order and under the supervision of the Sheriff and supervising attorneys, searches were conducted at each of the three premises. Salient Discovery’s team were responsible for providing digital forensic collection support in the form of imaging several devices (including laptops, cell phones and external hard drives).
The Salient Discovery digital forensics team were able to respond to the search and seizure request which, by necessity, was issued at very short notice, and two team members were dispatched to each location. On site, we imaged all relevant devices listed under the Order, ensuring all data and metadata was preserved, avoiding spoliation.
Our experienced team have the skillset and expertise to deal with the collection of digital evidence from a wide variety of devices and the various challenges associated with maintaining data integrity and defensibility thereof. The forensic images were handed over to the Sheriff for safe keeping and any legitimate downstream review requests. Our team produced three written reports to be included in the supervising attorney’s report.
