Salient’s 2025: our year in numbers

As the year draws to a close, we’ve taken a moment to reflect on everything 2025 has brought – from challenging cases to new technology, evolving client needs, and plenty of problem-solving along the way. It’s been a year of collaboration, growth, and staying adaptable in a rapidly changing landscape.

And since our work is all about uncovering patterns, tracing data and turning complexity into clarity, it only felt right to apply the same lens to our own efforts – to look back, make sense of the numbers, and see where we’ve made the biggest impact.

What we’ve been busy with

This year, our work has spanned everything from fast-moving investigations to long-running, complex disputes – each requiring a tailored approach and careful execution. In every case, we’ve stayed focused on helping clients respond effectively, manage risk, and get the most from the tools and platforms they rely on.

The most common areas in which we’ve supported clients this year include:

  • Physical and remote collections
  • eDiscovery projects of all shapes and sizes
  • Digital forensic investigations
  • Microsoft Purview engagements – including collections from M365 environments
  • Forensic data analytics

We’ve also continued to embrace the evolution of Generative AI. More and more clients are adopting Reveal’s Ask GenAI tool to accelerate early case assessment, and we’re currently testing the platform’s latest release, Aji, which brings GenAI capabilities into the review stage.

Trusted with cases large and small

We’ve continued to support clients with cases of every size and shape this year. Many return to us again and again as a trusted partner, confident that we can scale up quickly for large or complex projects, and just as easily support smaller matters through our flexible subscription model.

The numbers tell their own story about the breadth of work we’ve supported this year:

  • 28 active clients across the year
  • 138 new matters opened (and counting)
  • 6.9TB – the size of the largest single case under management
  • 9 cases larger than 1TB
  • 22 cases larger than 500GB
  • 22.1TB of throughput (the net volume of data we’ve actively processed or managed during the year)

Growing our digital forensics footprint

Digital forensics has become an increasingly vital part of what we do, from imaging devices in civil disputes to acting fast in high-pressure, court-ordered search and seizure scenarios.

In 2025, our forensic capability expanded significantly, with more clients turning to us for discreet, defensible evidence collection in sensitive or time-critical situations.

  • 2.5× increase in digital forensics services delivered vs 2024
  • 164 laptops and mobile devices imaged – and growing daily – (up 10% from 2024)
  • 5 Anton Piller orders executed – all under intense time constraints, with multiple moving parts

We’ll continue to grow this capability to meet demand, with a focus on precision, discretion and getting it right the first time.

Strengthening the Salient team

A growing workload means a growing team, and we’ve been fortunate to welcome several talented colleagues in 2025.

  • 3 team members joined us this year, including two highly experienced eDiscovery and forensics specialists. One of them returned to Salient after time away, drawn back by the culture of collaboration and curiosity.
  • We expanded our operational team to support the business behind the scenes, helping things run smoothly as we scale.
  • We’re looking ahead, with two graduate trainees joining us in January as part of our commitment to building the next generation of eDiscovery and forensic professionals.

What's next

We’re continuing to explore and implement cutting-edge technology to stay ahead of the curve. Our focus in early 2026 includes:

  • Deepening our understanding of GenAI in review workflows – ensuring its integration supports defensibility and legal rigour.
  • Delivering our robust, repeatable DSAR response model – building on the work we’ve supported in 2025 to create scalable, defensible approaches for high-stakes scenarios.
  • Launching a DSAR assessment resource – giving organisations a practical way to evaluate readiness and identify risks before a request lands.

Thank you

To all our clients, partners and colleagues — thank you for being part of our journey this year. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together in 2025, and we’re excited for what lies ahead in 2026.

Here’s to another year of solving problems, embracing change, and making the complex feel a little simpler.
